Description:

Ale made from malted buckwheat and rice syrup

Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs Malted Buckwheat (mash/sparge)
  • 6 lbs rice syrup (prior to boil)
  • 1 cup corn sugar (prior to boil)
  • 0.25 oz Saaz Hops (30 min)
  • 0.25 oz Hallertauer Hersbrucker Hops (30 min)
  • 0.25 oz Saaz Hops (15 min)
  • 0.25 oz Hallertauer Hersbrucker Hops (15 min)
  • 0.50 oz Hallertauer Hersbrucker Hops (flameout)
  • 1 pkg Ale Yeast

Additional Instructions

Primary Ferment: 10 days at 68 degrees
Secondary Ferment: 10 days at 68 degrees

Procedure:

Mash/sparge buckwheat.

Bring wort to boil, and primary fermentable sugars, return to boil and achieve hot break.

Add hops according to schedule.

Chill wort until appropriate temperature to pitch yeast.
